Small Business is one of the key strategic growth areas for Bankwest Business and services business customers with deposit and lending facilities.

The role

The Senior Business Banking Specialist is a phone based outbound sales role where you will be responsible for achieving asset and non-lending targets from existing customers. You will deliver consistently good service to our high value Small Business customers by proactively calling these customers and holding holistic needs conversations, ensuring the customer is provided with a total solution for their banking needs. You will be responsible for deepening relationships within our existing customer base and looking for sales opportunities and solutions on every call.

You may be required to work extended hours in line with national time zones and business days.

Your key responsibilities will include;

  • Proactively contacting our high value Small Business customers and deepen our relationship with these customers
  • Providing exceptional customer service in a friendly, prompt and professional manner
  • Meeting all sales, service quality and contact targets
  • Positively influences and rebuilds the customers experience when at risk
  • Actioning, resolving and closing all sales leads and referral opportunities within established service standards
  • Recognising referral opportunities that do not meet the Small Business market segment, referring to specialist sales, Business Banking or retail and following up to ensure completion
  • Provide fulfilment support for marketing/product campaigns
  • Meeting and exceeding individual and team performance and sales KPI’s
  • Deliver an outcome for the customer through continuous improvement and a high level of product and procedural knowledge acquired through personal development, cross skilling and process improvement
  • Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of Small Business through optimally managing own workflow, enquiry handle time and agent availability
  • Actively contribute to improving the customer experience by capturing customer insights data from daily enquiries/emails and be active in contributing suggestions for product and process improvement

The successful applicant

Your background will clearly demonstrate the following key skills and attributes;

  • Self-motivated sales person with a proven track record and a good understanding of the sales process
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity whilst offering solution based sales to customers
  • Able to work in a high paced team environment
  • Revels in change and feedback to improve performance
  • A strong understanding of Business & Retail lending products, policy and process
  • Solid cross sell experience
  • Sound analytical, planning and problem solving skills
  • High-level knowledge of banking practices, operations and guidelines
  • Strong customer service skills are mandatory, as is a strong level of competency in written and verbal communication
  • Strong customer and compliance focus
  • Ability to demonstrate Bankwest values
  • Excellent organisational skills & time management skills with the ability to work autonomously
  • FSRA Tier 2

Desirable

  • Call centre experience
  • Complaint resolution experience
  • Be proficient using various application process (which includes HOST/CBS, Customer One, SMART/Genesis, Lendnet, CPS, Customer Review, Genius)
