Description:

The Digital Shop Front project is building Bankwest's new public website using the Adobe Experience Manager platform. The project has a strong focus on adherence to web standards, accessibility and providing our customers with a first-class user experience. 

Technical capabilities:

  • Java, Javascript, CSS (Sass),
  • Eclipse and/or VS Code dev environment (our preference is the latter, we're flexible)
  • Team City build orchestration driving Maven builds
  • Curl, Cygwin, and other Linux tools
  • Linux and Windows scripting tools, including Powershell, SAHI
  • Confluence for documentation
  • JIRA for task and issue management

Desirable:

  • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) - experience or awareness
  • Linux servers on AWS - experience or awareness
  • Cloudfront - experience or awareness

Technical Lead Accountabilities:

  • Ownership/Maintenance of Programming Standards, tools/framework, and quality engineering practices and processes 
  • Identify and agree within the projects to address and complete tech debt and planning remediation activities; through simple management processes to support planning and risk management. Ensuring the projects understands the importance, implications and cost of ownership of tech debt.
  • Coach, mentor, cross skill and develop the capabilities of engineers at all levels working 
  • Contribute to end to end design and support development of solution architectures across multiple applications and projects by working closely with architects
  • Accountable for the design and solution of the application
  • Championing business and technical discussions - providing thought leadership, ideas and knowledge to grow the overall technical knowledge base across Bankwest
  • Identify and agree within the themes to address and implement improvements to the system, reducing complexity and enhances customer experience (Code Quality, Test coverage, MTTR (mean time to restore), MTBSF (mean time between system failure)
  • Transfer of knowledge and skills to maintain adequate level of support of system, working with Engineering Manager, by reducing key skills dependency. Provide input to people leader on development plans/training for engineers.
  • Maintain Heat Map and application roadmap in consultation with architect, and theme leaders
  • Ensure systems artefacts are up to date and accessible
  • Champion the implementation of solutions/new features aligned with architectural directions.
  • Engage and/or liaise with Themes & stakeholders to understand requirements, challenges & opportunities and draw fit for purpose solutions that meets our customer & colleague needs.
  • Maintaining On Call and standby roster
  • Accountable for Cost estimation, Concepts and estimates; working closely with the SME

 

Please note: This role is a 12 month fixed term contract with strong possibility for extension
