Products & Pricing are accountable for delivering and maintaining the Bankwest product portfolio ensuring we achieve sustainable growth with products that our customers want. The team consists of strong product delivery specialists, analytical & strategic capability, pricing specialists and product process experts.
 
Reporting to the Senior Product Manager you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational product management support to ensure credit card acquisition, balance sheet and profit targets are achieved. This includes full accountability of the credit card value chain including end-to-end processing of all new product sales across the core distribution channels.

What does success look like?

  • Overall development, implementation and ongoing administration of all acquisition activities
  • Ensure that all pricing recommendations and final decisions contribute towards core KPIs
  • Develop collaborative working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Stores, Online, BSC, Marketing, Credit Risk, Finance, Legal, Operational Risk and Compliance
  • Contribute towards the Cards acquisition strategy for both Retail and Commercial Cards undertaking extensive product research to understand competitor activity, strategy and emerging market trends locally and globally to optimise market penetration and revenue
  • Ensure focus on volume and financial performance drivers as well as the P & L and identify opportunities to improve product performance through cost reduction/revenue enhancement initiatives
  • Undertake regular reviews of Cards acquisition performance against agreed targets, positioning and strategy making recommendations on improvements and changes to strategy

What will help you succeed?

  • Solid experience in the financial services industry, the majority in a product management (Credit Cards or Personal Loans) or comparable role
  • Highly analytical driving insights through data analysis to shape the future acquisition strategy
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to drive results through people
  • Key communication skills ensuring all product propositions are effectively communicated through marketing and all new campaigns are effectively communicated to internal colleagues
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to identify and implement fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Understanding of regulatory & compliance issues impacting the industry and the impact on the way we do business
  • Business degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting or related discipline.
  • Exposure to marketing environment (eg: brochure ware, advertising) would be highly advantageous
